The Naked Truth about Antibiotics!
Antibiotics, also known as antibacterials, are medications that destroys or slows down the growth of bacteria.
Here are some key points about Antibiotics:
*Antibiotics cannot fight viral infections, only bacteria infections
*Leads to Antibiotic resistance
*Destroys the good bacteria out of the gut
*Side effects can include diarrhea, anemia, low blood count & more
There's no doubt that Antibiotics have saved millions of lives in the world. The first antibiotic was penicillin. Other related antibiotics are ampicillin, amoxicillin, benzylpenicillin and are widely used today to treat infections. The issue we are faced with today is the "overkill" of these medicines. Prescriptions are being written for any and every type of infection, regardless if it's viral or bacterial. Antibiotics were never meant to be taken on a daily basis, only for the critical times when one is faced with a serious bacteria infection. The fact that so many kids and adults consume them more than needed, people are starting to experience health related issues.
Antibiotics destroys ALL the "good bacteria" in the gut and our gut makes up approximately 80% of the immune system. Also, people are becoming "antibiotic resistance" this is from consuming antibiotics daily or periodically throughout life; and in desperate times when antibiotics are needed for a serious bacteria infection, it will not work. The reason for this is due to the body has become resistance to it and simply will not work and unfortunately, has caused many deaths.
Having poor gut health leads to many chronic conditions such as leaky gut, diabetes,
arthritis, fibromyalgia, eczema, heart disease, autoimmune disease, cold/flu other infections and more
According to the CDC, "each year in the United States, at least 2 million people become infected with bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics and at least 23,000 people die each year as a direct result of these infections".
Children who have sickle cell disease are told to take penicillin the first 5 years of life and depending on where you live in the US, parents can be charged in the court of law for not administering to their child. As for me, I stopped giving penicillin to my sickle cell child at the age of 7 months old but immediately started him on probiotics and natural antibiotics and I can proudly say, my son has not been sick in years. And if he gets sick, I am able to get him over the illness in a matter of 1-2 days!
My advice, please do your research, for everyone who consumes antibiotics, make sure to take a good probiotic afterwards to restore the good bacteria in the gut. Remember sickness starts in the gut and we need to make sure our gut is at its healthiest!
